I’m not expecting Windows 11 to fix each problem somehow, but perhaps the new release will abandon some legacy cruft and make it easier to fix things in the future? Similarly to how Windows Terminal is a fresh take on the Windows shell engine. There are some quirks that I wouldn’t say I like each day, but I guess those are the same quirks we’ve had since Windows 95. ![]() I’ve been mostly happy with Windows 10 since it initially became available in mid-2015. It will be a free upgrade for existing Windows 10 PCs. The first preview bits for Windows 11 will land this week for Windows Insiders, and the final version is promised for the holiday season of 2021 (thus, the end of the year).
